36th Akarua Arrowtown Autumn Festival 2021

36th Akarua Arrowtown Autumn Festival

22-26th April 2021

Worthy of its very own blog post, the Autumn Festival that engulfs Arrowtown from the 22nd to the 26th is more than just an opportunity visit!

Celebrating the vibrant changing of the seasons, chasing summer away and welcoming in winter, the festival pays tribute to the beautiful and colorful surroundings of Arrowtown during autumn and it's kind-hearted and welcoming townsfolk.

With enough pizazz to be a truly international event, but anchored in delightful community spirit, the festival showcases music and entertainment, the culinary achievements of local café’s bars and restaurants, arts and crafts, creative workshops and children-friendly classes, historical walks and services and environmental education initiatives.    Over 6 days there is so many fun and interactive experiences to have you just can't get bored! Outdoor movies, street entertainment and artisan workshops - the list goes on and on.

Out top picks for this year's festivals are:

The Roaring 20's Prohibition Party

Seriously good fun!  dress up as your favourite characters from the 1920's - Mobsters and Flappers, Peaky Blinders and Bugsy Malones, Great Gatsbys and Greta Garbos!  Akarua are rolling out the wines and the live entertainment will be fast and fun!

Autumn Long Lunch

With the heat of summer a memory, the opportunity to dine outside on the long lunch table, down historic Arrowtown is a travellers (and locals) must do!  Enjoy a glass of bubbles on arrival and a sumptuous four-course shared platter lunch - prepared by local Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan!

The Arrow River Dash

This one is fun for the whole family!  A 5 km dash, bridge to bridge along the Millennium Track, and ending in a super fun water slide!  you'll post a time, so bragging rights amongst friends and family is on the line!
